Program in Detail
Day 1: M’Hamid – Sidi Naji
Meet our team in M'Hamid for the trek departure. We walk for 4 hours, accompanied by dromedaries, towards Sidi Naji, emblematic place of our Nouaji tribe, with its mausoleum dedicated to our ancestor. Lunch and installation of the bivouac in this unique setting. Enjoy a moment of rest, tea and a friendly dinner before sleeping under the stars.
Day 2: Sidi Naji – Erg Zmila
After breakfast, departure for a 3-hour walk towards Erg Zmila, close to the Algerian border. The landscapes alternate between mountains and spectacular dunes. In the evening, our guides prepare a delicious traditional meal for you, accompanied by sand bread baked on site. Evening under the stars with songs and stories around the fire.
Day 3: Erg Zmila – Erg Zahar
Breakfast then 3h30 hike to Erg Zahar, one of the most impressive dunes in the region. Rest, lunch, and exploration of the site, with the possibility of climbing to the top of the dune to contemplate the sunset. Dinner and unforgettable night at the foot of the dunes.
Day 4: Erg Zahar – Erg Aït Ounir
Departure for a 3-hour walk to the dunes of Erg Aït Ounir. Lunch and installation of camp between the dunes for the last night in the desert. Enjoy an evening of sharing and contemplation around a campfire.
Day 5: Erg Aït Ounir – Draa Valley
We continue our walk through the Draa Valley, a vast expanse that was once green. We walk for 3.5 hours, following the dromedaries, to a place where these animals often gather. Bivouac and evening around the fire for this last night under the starry sky.
Day 6: Draa Valley – M'Hamid
After a last breakfast, we leave for a 1h30 walk towards the tamarisks of Aicha Moussa, a magnificent place near M'Hamid. Lunch in the shade of the tamarisks before returning to the village. Moment of farewell with our team and the dromedaries.
Practical Information
• Access: M'Hamid El Ghizlane is accessible by bus or taxi.
• Accommodation: Nomadic bivouac between the dunes, with the possibility of sleeping under the stars or in a tent, depending on the weather and your preferences.
• Meals: Prepared with fresh produce by our team, including salads, tagines, and local specialties.
• Personalization: We adapt this trek according to your wishes: day in 4x4, specific itineraries, etc. Let us know your desires for a tailor-made experience.
The camels will carry the camping equipment and your personal belongings.
